Reflexology

The art of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China but it wasn't until 1913 that Dr. William Fitzgerald introduced it as "Zone Therapy" to the western world. He believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to areas and organs of the body. In the 1930's, Eunice Ingham further developed zone therapy into what is now known as Reflexology.


Reflexology is based on the principle that every organ, gland & part of the body corresponds to a reflex point in the feet.

 


By stimulating these reflexes, Reflexology can help to improve mood, aid sleep, relieve tension, induce relaxation and well being.

Maternity Reflexology

Maternity Reflexology is the expertise of the Reflexology Practitioner using a natural therapy (reflexology) to support a natural event (pregnancy and birthing).

A study by Dr Gowrie Motha has demonstrated that those receiving regular reflexology during pregnancy have better pregnancies and have shorter birthing with fewer interventions.

Vertical Reflex Therapy
20 minute treatment £22

Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) is an advanced reflexology technique. It works on the same principle as traditional Reflexology but can have a quicker therapeutic response.



A VRT treatment is given with the client in a weight bearing position, either standing or sitting. The therapist then works the reflexes through the top of the feet.

This treatment is ideal for those who have slightly less mobility and cannot sit with their legs raised comfortably.
